Annual Portsmouth Children's Day, Sunday, May 1st, 2016, 12-4PM. This Festival combines family-friendly activities, entertainment and usually, an ice cream sundae – all sponsored, hosted and supported by the Downtown Merchants, area companies, civic organizations and volunteers of the Seacoast. From a cruise aboard the M/V Thomas Laighton to a "photo – op" with a favorite friend from Character Island, the day is filled with something for everyone.
How does it work? Pro Portsmouth creates a map and kids of all ages follow the alphabet 'round town. From A to Z, they can visit shops and restaurants, head to the Block Party on Pleasant and enjoy all sorts of fun activities and entertainment.

Saturday June 4th, 2016, 11AM - 4PM - Prescott Park, Portsmouth, NH. at all you want of some of the most delicious chowder you've ever tasted at WOKQ's annual Chowder Festival! Piping hot chowder made by more than a dozen restaurants across the Seacoast will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. and the pouring won't stop until it's all gone! Eat to your heart's content and vote for the chowder of your choice! The 32nd ANNUAL WOKQ CHOWDER FESTIVAL is New England's Oldest and Largest Chowder Tasting Event! Each year, more than 4,000 people help kick off the Prescott Park Arts Festival summer season by enjoying more than 500 gallons of piping hot chowder served up for tasting. Cost: $14/$7 kids 12 & under.
